The stand mixer that's ready for anything
The KitchenAid mixer was the first home stand mixer to feature 'planetary action'. But what does planetary action actually mean? It means the shaft of the mixer rotates in one direction, while the attachment rotates in the other, giving a much more thorough mix. The beater spirals to at least 59 touchpoints around the bowl, so everything you throw is will be fully mixed in - nothing is missed.
From mixing cake batter to whisking up whipped cream or kneading pasta dough, select your accessory and choose your speed, from 1 for a gentle stir, to 6 for beating and creaming, and up to 10 for fast whipping. In fact, you can whip cream in less than 60 seconds(2). Now that's impressive.
A pleasure to use and easy to clean
When you're itching to get started with your new mixer, the last thing you need is to be wrestling with tricky accessories and complicated controls. The tilt-head construction of this mixer makes things super easy. Just lock the bowl into place, pop in your chosen beater and lower the head. Slide the speed lever to start. Simple as that.
Cleaning up is a dream too. The included pouring shield protects the mixer and work surfaces from getting splashed when you're pouring ingredients into the bowl and mixing. And, when you're finished, all accessories (dough hook, whisk and paddle) are dishwasher safe. Then it's time to relax and relish the eating.

The bigger 4.8 L, two-tone stainless steel bowl has ergonomic handle for easy lifting. It can knead up to 2 kg of dough or mix 9 dozen cookies(3) in a single batch. The 3 L stainless steel bowl is perfect for smaller jobs, or can add an extra 60 (5 dozen) cookies to your baking session, without having to start all over again. That's plenty to go around when you're enjoying family time in the kitchen or entertaining friends. There's no such thing as too many cookies, after all.

The stand mixer comes with a 4.8 L stainless steel mixer bowl which can process up to 1 kg of all-purpose flour, 1 L of whipped cream,1.5 kg of mashed potatoes or 108 cookies*. It also includes an extra 3 L bowl so that it's easier to work without having to wash up between ingredients. The accessories for this stand mixer are all stainless steel for the ultimate in durability. The whisk is for incorporating air into eggs and cream, the paddle (flat beater) is for mixing heavy ingredients and the dough hook is for yeast doughs like bread or pasta. When you’ve finished, you can pop the bowls and accessories in the dishwasher and wipe over the body. You can add exciting optional attachments (sold separately) to the multipurpose attachment hub. Plug in anything from a pasta cutter to a meat grinder, vegetable sheet cutter or grain mill, to unleash your creativity.
